About the Event
Leader: Dale Hjertaas
At Buffalo Pound Provincial Park we will walk the trail through the forest and along the Moose Jaw River, visit the Nicolle Homestead and the spring and cross some prairie hills. With a bit of luck the trees will be showing a lot of fall colour, adding beauty to the walk and a chance for fall photography. We will also make stops at Buffalo Pound Dam to check for Pelicans and other wildlife attracted to the this area and visit the board walk and bison viewing area. Besides fall colours we will be looking for fall migrants and late blooming wildflowers.
Bring water and a picnic lunch. We will have lunch together, either at the picnic shelter near the boardwalk or beside the stone house.People may then return to Regina or continue to enjoy the day at the park on their own.
Note we will be visiting…
