Join the David Drummond, on a tour of Wascana Park’s Habitat Conservation Area. An area set aside as habitat for local birds and wildlife. Due to its location it receives much less attention from the conventional maintenance crews outside of a bit of trail maintenance. This has allowed Indigenous grasses, flowers and small shrubs to flourish. It also has an abundance of invasive and feral plants as well: from noxious purple loosestrife, escaped ornamental irises, to feral asparagus. The Habitat Conservation Area is a good place to observe an abundance of problem plants interacting with a recovering landscape.
