About the Event
Speaker: Elaine Ehman
Started in 2019, Nature Canada has been leading a Bird Friendly City program to help cities and towns across Canada become bird-friendly. This includes a list of actions that a city can take, building on three pillars: addressing threats, restoring nature, and educating and mobilizing citizens.
There are three levels of certification as a Bird Friendly City based on the number of actions taken. Regina was certified at the entry level as Canada’s 5th Bird Friendly City in 2022. In 2024, the Black-capped Chickadee was crowned Regina’s official city bird.
This will be an in person event.
