About the Event
Join us for a talk by Dale and Paule Hjertaas where they discuss gardening with natural floral in their yard. A shared love of nature and gardening led Dale and Paule Hjertaas to work to attract nature to their yard. Through more than 35 years at 15 Olson Place we have slowly learned and planted to increase biodiversity in our yard, while also having places for children to play and growing food. Using Paule’s outstanding photography, Dale will take you through the seasons at Olson Place and share:
- the beauty we see through the year, whether from from spring flowers, migrant birds, autumn leaves, insects or frost and snow;
- some of the hundreds of species we have identified in our yard;
- measures that worked for us to increase biodiversity in our yard; and
- why that is important to us.
One can find a lot of nature in a small area. Every photo in this presentation will be from our yard. We hope this presentation will be of interest to naturalists and gardeners.
Members are welcome to attend in person or virtually.
