Leader: Dave Drummond (YQR Naturalist)
Have you ever wondered, "is that sage?" well now you can know for sure. Join the YQR Naturalist Dave Drummond in learning about and enjoying the wonderful world of "sages". Participants will partake in a guided tour amongst the beautiful scenery of the Wascana Valley Recreation Site and learn all about Sage/"sage". Includes identifying the local Artemisia species, learning the difference between Indigenous and introduced Artemisia plants, and Sage lookalikes. We'll also learn all about the prairie ecosystem they depend on. Bring water and wear appropriate clothes. Might want to wear bug spray as mosquitos are making their presence known, ticks are minimal to low on the list of worries.
