About the Event
On Sunday January 2nd, we will have five bird experts lead groups around Wascana Centre counting birds that spend the winter in Regina. Total number and species of birds will be submitted to Nature Counts where it can be used in scientific research. After the 1 hour walk join us for an online zoom meeting where groups will share their total bird count and enjoy a presentation from the Saskatchewan Falconry Association. Lynn Oliphant will show his live Falcon and highlight birds of prey in Saskatchewan.
If you would like to be in the same group as another family, please register together. Location of bird walk and zoom link will be emailed to you prior to January 2nd.
Please dress appropriately for the weather. Bird walk will be cancelled if the temperature is below -35 degrees celsius. If you have binoculars please bring them along. There will be a limited supply at the event.
