About the Event
Ward 8 Councillor Shanon Zachidniak will provide an update on Regina’s progress toward becoming a greener and more sustainable city. The presentation will look at what is working, where important gaps and challenges remain, and what opportunities lie ahead. It will highlight green initiatives underway across Regina, including work connected to the City’s sustainability goals. A particular focus will be Regina’s naturalization efforts, including progress to date, the benefits of naturalized spaces and opportunities to expand this work. Shanon will also provide a brief update on waste reduction, including recycling, composting and efforts to divert more waste from the landfill. The presentation will conclude by looking at what comes next and how residents and community organizations can help support a greener Regina.
