About the Event

Jayme Menard of the University of Regina will be speaking on "New Invader to Saskatchewan : What is the Prussian Carp?"

The Prussian carp is a newly discovered invasive species to Saskatchewan. After being introduced in Alberta in the early 2000s, Prussian carp have reached Saskatchewan through the South Saskatchewan River, where they continue to increase their range and population. With this new invader, there are a lot of questions to be answered on their impacts on Saskatchewan water bodies. Looking at life history and how Prussian carp make a living will help us understand the potential effects of Prussian carp on our native lakes and rivers.

This will be an online event, please register here for the meeting link.
