Maegan Krajewski, the Community Garden Coordinator will share about the Branch Out Project which has led to the construction of several local community gardens, gardens in residents' yards as well as at school grounds. Maegan will also tell us about the Harvest Stands which provide produce for free as well as the concept of open gardening with constant free access to food from the gardens.
Maegan recently completed her Master's with a focus on the positive impacts of community gardening. Find out more about how consumption, community, capacity and control and the revolutionary potential of community gardening in shaping grassroots, local food systems that embody the visions of both food justice and food sovereignty.
