About the Event
Leader: Dan Sawatzky
The McKell Wascana Conservation Park was developed as a partnership between Ducks Unlimited Canada, The Bob McKell family and the City of Regina and encompasses 171 acres of wetlands and grassland along Wascana Creek. It provides habitat for birds rarely seen in other parts of the City such as Bobolinks, Sedge Wrens, Marsh Wrens, Nelson’s Sparrow and Common Yellowthroat. We will walk some of the 4 kms of paths seeking birds and enjoying the grassland.
As many members will know, the City is currently studying a possible extension of Wascana Parkway to Prince of Wales Drive that would cross Wascana Creek at the edge of the McKell area
Meet at McKell Wascana Conservation Park entrance at 12001 Wascana Circle, at 8:00 AM.
Bring binoculars if you have them. All ages and skill levels welcome.
