Meet at the Royal Saskatchewan Museum Parking Lot.
The hillsides and prairie at our Hidden Valley Nature Refuge are an excellent place to find early spring flowers. We will hike up the West Ridge Trail an onto the upland prairie, looking for wildflowers and birds. While each spring has its own schedule I hope to find Prairie Crocus, Leafy Musineon, Moss Phlox, Early Cinquefoil, Trembling Aspen, Wild Parsley, and Great Plains Bladderpod in bloom. We will probably see some spring bees and perhaps early butterflies like the Mourning Cloak and will be watching for spring birds.
We will finish at Hidden Valley around noon, people can make their way back to Regina.
Bring water and snacks if you want them and cameras for the wildflowers and beautiful views.
