About the Event
Join Nature Regina, Nature Saskatchewan and SaskOutdoors for the Get Outside! Kids Club. An outdoor education program for at home learners including homeschoolers, e-learners and distance learners from ages 6 to 13.
This week we'll be exploring A.E. Wilson Park. We'll have the same session two weeks in a row so as many families as possible can participate (June 2nd and 9th will be the same). Please sign up for only one session. Parents must attend with their children.
On Wednesday, June 2nd and Wednesday, June 9th we'll be learning to orienteer! Orienteering is essentially a giant scavenger hunt. We'll provide an orienteering map and show you how to use it and you'll get to explore A.E. Wilson Park and find all of the orienteering flags! We'll have fun activities like pond dipping, birdwatching, tag and hide and go seek set up along the way! You might even spot spawning fish, birds and waterfowl sitting on their nests, native plants emerging and maybe even a beaver along the way!
The event will be 1 1/2 to 2 hours with four different activities. Mandatory masking, social distancing, hand sanitizing, responding to COVID 19 symptom checker questions and small group sessions.
Thanks to the Community Initiatives Fund and Saskatchewan Lotteries for providing funding to make the Get Outside! Kids Club possible!
